The city of Sammamish would not be complete without the deep history backing it up. With such an incredible variety of natural wonders throughout these lands, it is no wonder the city started off as a quaint resort town towards the end of the 1800s. It is surprising how new the rest of the city is. Most of its infrastructure and urban development projects were undertaken in the 1970’s and 1980’s.

The city is certainly still in its youthful years, and ready for you to make your mark on this growing paradise just west of the breathtaking Cascade Mountains. For those intrigued, local museums like the Issaquah Depot Museum can aid their guests in discovering even more about this beautiful bit of Washington.
