Welcome to North Bend
Where life grows and flourishes below the breathtaking Mount Si
This quaint town of Twin Peaks fame certainly embraces its time spent in the spotlight. However, this fame is only secondary, as the city can stand up on its own. The unmissable natural landscape spices up every view no matter which way you look at the town. One major asset of North Bend is Mount Si, which towers over the town like the mythical Mount Olympus. This comparison is regularly strengthened by cloud coverage, which partially obscures parts of the mountain from time to time.
The city's origin story is an intriguing one. Native American tribes roamed these lands for thousands of years. The first time a non-native inhabitant had come to live in the area was in 1858.
Soon enough, other settlers began to flock to the region. The city’s name stems from the fact that it sat along a bend in the Snoqualmie River. With this growth in population, logging and other industries soon followed. North Bend was eventually officially incorporated as Washington town in 1909, and, as they say, the rest is history. If you’re interested in finding out more about the North Bend area, museums like the
Snoqualmie Valley Historical Museum can help give you a wonderful step back into the past.
