Bridle Trails Projects

In the last NEP cycle, Bridle Trails residents selected three capital improvement projects in 2018: construction of a sidewalk along a section of Northeast 40th Street; safety improvements to the intersection by Cherry Crest Elementary School and an array of improvements to Cherry Crest Mini Park.

NE 40th Street Sidewalk

This project will construct a sidewalk with planter strip on the north side of Northeast 40th Street from 140th Avenue Northeast to approximately the 14500 block, filling in a missing gap. In conjunction with the sidewalk project, bike lanes will also be added along the NE 40th Street corridor. Other elements to be included in this project are a marked pedestrian crossing near 142nd Avenue and storm drainage improvements. This project is made possible with NEP funds for which the neighborhood voted in 2018, along with funds from the Transportation Departments’s Neighborhood Sidewalk Program and the Neighborhood Safety and Connectivity levy.

Estimated Project Completion: spring/summer 2024 (NEP funding $75,750 + Transportation department budgets $1.65 million + Bike Levy $60,000)
